We envision a community where all individuals have access to good, nutritious food, know about God’s gracious love and mercy for them, and are committed to creating a stronger, healthier environment.
Our mission and goal is to help eliminate hunger and improve the health and wellbeing of our community by providing compassionate care and access to emergency food assistance for those in need. Food is given with love and respect, and it is our intention that they receive not only food for their physical hunger, but also generous portions of kindness and grace to feed their emotional and spiritual hunger as well.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”
The ACI Food Pantry is open to the community every third Thursday each month from 5 to 7 pm.
The pantry provides an array of nutritious food items including bread, eggs, milk, meat, and fresh produce. We also distribute personal hygiene items, donated clothes, shoes, diapers, wipes, formula, and toys for children.
If you or someone you know is in need, please don't hesitate to reach out!

The food pantry also meets every second Saturday each month to distribute 100 bagged meals by going out into the community, walking the streets of the city, and going directly to those who may be in need and may not be able to get to the pantry. Volunteers distribute a care pack that includes a wrapped hot dog and condiments, a bag of chips, a bottle of water, fruit, snacks, and toiletry kit.
Along with providing food, clothing, and personal hygiene items, the food pantry also offers free haircuts, as stylists are available. The food pantry is able to offer this free service because of the generosity of a young local barber who volunteers at the pantry and recognizes the personal and emotional value of a stylish haircut. The haircuts are provided and given to any who request. The barber will take the time to go out to where the individuals live and offer haircuts to men, women, and children.
During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the Apostolic Church of Indio Food Pantry collects and packages special holiday meals into gift bags. Inside each holiday gift bag is a complete meal, which includes a main dish, side dishes, desserts, and water. In addition to the food, the food pantry offers a new blanket, a new pair of socks, a handmade, crocheted beanie,
and toiletry kit.
